A Literature Review on the Sustainable EPQ Model, Focusing on Carbon Emissions and Product Recycling

Background: Many businesses want to include sustainability in their manufacturing operations. A conventional economic production quantity (EPQ) model is employed calculate the ideal number of products manufacture at one time. The goal this study was look current research on sustainable and supply chain models suggest prospective future directions based existing knowledge gaps. Methods: In perspective, we used systematic procedures conduct a survey that included studies from two scenarios: (1a) EPQ accounts for carbon emissions inventory storage manufacture, (1b) includes product recycling, (2) reverse logistics recycling. Results: According inquiry, there are literature consider recycling together, but they not jointly considered modeling considering situation where system imperfect, although both vital ensuring environmental sustainability. Conclusions: future, can be developed with these aspects mind understand effects while controlling inventories an imperfect system.
